We’re farmers!

Good Food Farmers Network is farmer-owned and dedicated to expanding opportunities for beginning farmers and to increasing the availability of high quality, locally produced food.

Why buy from us?

First, it is our goal to bring you incredibly fresh, healthy, local food for you, your family, and your friends to enjoy! Our commitment to producing and delivering really good food is unwavering. You can continue to expect food that is incredibly fresh, grown and harvested with great care, and produced without pesticides, without synthetic fertilizers, without genetically modified organisms, and with the highest degree of animal welfare and environmental stewardship. We will continue to add new items as the seasons change and additional farmers join the network!

In addition, by buying from Good Food Farmers Network, you are helping to put more money back into the farmers’ pockets. In the large-scale, highly-centralized, dominant food system of today, our fellow farmers receive a very small portion of every dollar spent on food. How much? 16 cents. That’s how much the farmers received from every dollar spent on food in 2011 in the United States. The other 84 cents went to marketing, processing, wholesaling, distribution, and retailing. Click here for more info from the USDA.

Good Food Farmers Network seeks to shift that equation, and you’re helping us do it! For every dollar that you spend with us, at least 70 cents ends up back in the hands of participating farms. And, at the end of the year, if GFFN makes a profit, the farmers choose how to distribute the balance – to the farmers, to low-income shares and community programs, or to reinvest in GFFN infrastructure. With each purchase, you are helping to ensure that there will be farmers in the future who want to grow really good food for all of our communities!

Thank YOU!
