In our farmers choice bags for today, we suggested pea shoots from Little Seed Gardens, spicy radish shoots from Ironwood Farm, carnival squash (similar to acorn squash and, among other uses, great cut in half, roasted, and then stuffed with any number of fillings – cooked rice with Dog Wood Farm hot beef sausage is a farmer favorite!), yellow onions, green cabbage, and red beets from Juniper Hill Farm, shiitake mushrooms from Rock City Farm, and eggs from Dog Wood Farm.
For members who add meat to their bags, we suggested a half chicken (approx. 2.2 lbs) from Letterbox Farm. It’s always pasture raised and cooks up moist, tender, and delicious. For members who customized, you had over fifty items to choose from; almost makes it hard to choose!
