Good Food Farmers has tripled in size with almost 300 orders now going out each week (with an additional 150 people on the waitlist). We have been able to bring more farms into the network and will be supporting even more beginning farmers this season who are just starting their careers in agriculture.
Fresh herbs are making their first significant appearance of the season with dill and cilantro available from Ironwood Farm. We will also have fresh chard from Juniper Hill Farm.
By request, we have added 100% grassfed whole milk from Chaseholm Farm. We only have a limited quantity available for this coming week. If it is sold out and you would like some for the following week, please do send us an email so we can arrange for more. This milk is fresh from this week, was bottled yesterday and has a 14-day expiration date.
Lastly, we have decided to bring on a non-GFF farm until we can expand our own flocks in order to supply you with eggs during this crisis. Please read the description in the Eggs item for more information.
In next week’s Farmer’s Choice bags, we have included spinach from Juniper Hill Farm and Katchkie Farm; swiss chard, red beets, Adirondack Blue potatoes, fingerling sweet potatoes, and red onions from Juniper Hill Farm; watermelon radishes from Morningstar Farm; and carrots from Juniper Hill Farm and Sun Sprout Farm (new to GFF!). We have also included a jar of either Original or Cinnamon Creamed Honey from Bee Hollow Farm & Apiary. We highly recommend giving it a try! The Farmer’s Choice Plus bag, which includes 1 to 2 pounds of pasture-raised and grass-fed meats each week, will include one package of 100% grass-fed ground beef from Kinderhook Farm.
